Amy Smart is a former American model and actor. Her modelling career began in Italy which is in which she was born and raised, before being was born in California. Her first acting role was in the TV film Her Costly Affair. It took some time to get her into Starship Troopers in a smaller part. Amy had a difficult time making the transition from modeling to acting because models aren't usually thought of as an actor of high quality. They are usually given smaller or unimportant roles. Amy was determined to succeed and she eventually landed larger parts beginning in The 70s, the movie Varsity Blues. In the course of a couple of years Amy made the jump to more prominent roles. She starred in the romantic comedy Just Friends alongside Ryan Reynolds. The film was a major film at the box office and Amy has finally achieved the fame she had been trying for for more than 10 years.
