An attractive, clever and skilled actor, she's an example to Asian actors aspiring to be big stars in Hollywood. Her early success was boosted by her appearance on several popular television shows. There, she portrayed the villainous Ling Woo. The actress took her initial popularity into big screen roles in movies like Shanghai Noon and Charlie's Angels. Following that, she gave an an excellent role in Quentin Tarantino Kill Bill Volume 1 as Japanese crime lord O Ren Ishii. In the meantime, her roles as an actress in the flops that were box-office hits like Rise: Blood Hunter were as well-known. Then she began voicing the characters of animated films like Kung Fu Panda or Tinker Bell. Mia Mason's tiny screen role as a character in Cashmere Mafia did not produce any results. Southland is a highly praised crime-drama - established her as a leading actress. Liu is extremely careful when selecting her roles, so she's not a typecast.
