She is the daughter of Harvey Welker (a Native American father) and Julie Welker (an African-American mom). She is the mother of a real-estate agent, while her father holds a degree in engineering. Walker received her schooling through Germantown Friends School located in Philadelphia's Germantown region, where she was able to graduate in 1994. In 1998, she received her degree from Harvard College with a Bachelor's degree. Welker is since the age of 20 with John Hughes who is a well known marketing director of Merck Philadelphia. They are parents to two children. The couple began having an affair. John was her husband. He's four years older than she.
