She's born to Harvey Welker (a Native American father) and Julie Welker (an African-American mom). Her mother is an agent in real estate while her father holds a degree in engineering. Walker received her schooling through Germantown Friends School in Philadelphia's Germantown area where she graduated in 1994. Then she attended Harvard College where she earned an Associate of Arts degree in 1998. Welker, wed with John Hughes of Merck Philadelphia in Philadelphia is mother to two. They began an affair during 2014, when they were together. John her husband, is 4 years younger than her. Because their relationship was so successful, they decided to move on to the next level. On March 4th 2017 the pair married. They were married in Pennsylvania, near Philadelphia. The ceremony took place in The Hyatt located in the city of Philadelphia.
